An Emotional Evening ...... Even If It Was Without Darrell

Darrell should be back from London tomorrow, full of tales of his wonderful Apprentice adventure, but that meant that he wasn’t actually with us last night for “his” episode of “The Apprentice, You’re Fired” ……..

……… but Nigel and I, as per instructions, set it to record so that we can watch it with Darrell on his return, with his added insight of all the behind the scene scenes.  However, I am afraid that despite Darrell’s absence Nigel and I were so buoyed up that we just couldn’t wait, and watched both the main programme and The Fired one without him, well, it would have been nigh on impossible not too.

Anyway, the cat is now out of the bag and everyone knows that it was Sarah Jane who was fired, although Andrew and Charles had a very close shave. Darrell has since told us that there were huge gasps from the audience when it looked as if there could have possibly been a multiple sacking!

The icing on  Darrell’s Apprentice cake was undoubtedly Claude being on the panel, it must have been torture for Darrell not to divulge, because it was all he went on about before he left, Claude being a bit of hero of his, with his dry acerbic wit, poker face, and ability to sum up a situation in very few words!  He lived up to all of Darrell’s hope and dreams and was greeted with rapturous applause when it was announced that he was there.

We also know now how Darrell voted …….. he went for “Hired”, holding his card proudly aloft.  Darrell thought that the vote might have gone heavily for fired, but in fact it was declared as a draw.

Anyway, I can’t wait for Darrell to get back, and no doubt we will freeze frame every shot of the audience, just in case we can pick Darrell and his card out. 

It’s such a pity that just like “The Bake Off” the taking of any photos in the studio is strictly forbidden, for fear of instant injection ejection, even when filming has ended, so despite it being one of Darrell’s bucket list moments, he has nothing tangible to hold on to other than his memory.  He had hoped that perhaps he could have sneaked his hired/fired board in to his bag, but these too also had to be handed over on almost pain of death! The memory, however is in Darrell’s head  and no one can take that away from him ………

…….. BUT he has told me that he does have some other exciting pictures of a celebrity type nature up his sleeve …….. but you’ll have to wait for those for a little longer!!!
