Two And A Half Hours In Fiscardo ….

Our final stop on our away a day Greek excursion was two and a half hours in Fiscardo……..
….. and while Darrell and Nigel were eager to explore …..
…….. and although I was feeling a little better, I thought it best if I just found a quiet taverna where I could sip a little iced water and watch the world go by and leave The Boyz to their own devices.
Our guide had been most anxious that we embraced the pleasures of the Old Fiscardo Bakery which she said was seeped history (and honey), so that was obviously Darrell’s and Nigel’s first port of call
It didn’t disappoint ……. although they couldn’t understand the romantically written  “menu” board, Darrell and Nigel quickly decided that they would be making several considered purchases through the power of pointing and nom, nom, nomming …… which even in Greece is understood!
They bought, they think, something chocolaty and something custardy, which were beautifully presented in boxes …… but so infused were their choices in sugary substances that they immediately leaked and oooooozed sticky wonderfulness, which further nessisatitated the need for a carrier bag ……. all of which boded very well for a magnificent nom fest upon our returned to the hotel, and I was able to take solids!
They then meandered around the village ……. licking the leaked honey from their fingers as they went …….. and attracting the attention of a few wasps!
…… both being particularly taken by all the romantic and intriguing picturesque steps …..
…… that looked like they lead to romantic and intriguing picturesque places
……. and blue doors, that were equally romantic and intriguingly picturesque ……..
……. which got Darrell to musing as to whether we should considered going arched and blue Chez Castle Greysquirrel as part of our restorations!
It was all toooooooooooooooooo,  toooooooooooo, tooooooo beautiful ….
….. with two hours not really being enough time ……..
…… to take it all in.
But,  it was HOT, and so they decided, a tad reluctantly to spend their last little while toasting a glorious time and place ……..
……… avec une cocktail …..
…… watching the fish in the cystal waters …..
….. and pondering about what sort of boat they would have if money was no object (no comment from me here you will note!!!!)
…… before meeting up with me and returning to our own boat for the last, hopefully, smooth leg home!

Another great day.
Don't forget to take the seasick tablets an hour or two before hitting the high seas.
