Darrell’s Herman Cake ….. Part Deux

Herman Cake 1
Darrell’s Herman Friendship Cake has been fermenting  festering spewing, spuming and emitting malodorous whiffs and pongs in our kitchen for four days now, for which, at first, Nigel got the blame!

However, we have been judicious in our care, stirring it several times a day (while holding our noses) and today have added extra flour, sugar and water as per the instructions.

We are a trifle apprehensive and not entirely convinced that it will:-  1 – get any where near an oven ……  2 - be vaguely edible ……. and 3 – won’t gas us in the night …. so as a precaution we have put a carbon monoxide detector beside the bowl.

…….. and of yet neither of us has had the courage to dip one of our fingers in to take a little taste! But as someone famous once said “You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try.” and we are nothing but doomed determined!

Oh dear - early morning cuppa almost spurted over the screen here :) Good idea to have a CO2 detector - that mix looks evil and it could be out to get you! Di xx

Poor Nigel, getting the blame.
Do you know said the quote? It was Beverly Sills, a famous opera singer in the 1960s and 70s.

We did know that Mr D .... but we thought that if we started the sentence saying ..... "To quote the Opera Singer Beverley Sill s ...." it would look like showing off
