Wooooooooooooo Woooooooooooooooooo

Trick or Treat?
Monkey at haloween
I didn’t want to be too scary in case little ones stumbled on this page and were scared witless.  I don’t want to be responsible for nightmares and wet beds.
I shall be going Trick or Treating tonight, but it will have to be before X Factor.
Happy Halloween

Shopping In Manchester

Picture 121
Sometimes I just like to sit and think ……….
I went to bed early last night because today I am off to Manchester for a shopping expedition with Auntie Jan.
I have been saving for ages.  The shops in Manchester are dead good.  They have the biggest Paperchase I have ever seen …..
I want to buy stuff for my pencil case and hopefully I will also find some interesting bits and pieces, because this year it is my job to put little presents on everyone’s pillow on Christmas Eve.
I have made a list …..

Proper Cooked Chips

I think everyone knows by now that I love my food!
Picture 236
And I am particularly fond of proper cooked chips done in a chip pan. Oven chips just don’t do anything for me, although I know that they are much more healthy for me.
 Picture 238Picture 237
Its a family tradition to wrap the cut chips in a damp tea towel before putting them in the pan, goodness knows why.
Picture 241
I like mine with salt, vinegar and tomato sauce, but sometimes when I feel a bit continental I have them with mayonnaise.
Bon Appétit

Immersing Myself in Pirate Ways

Picture 042
When I was in London I pretended to use all my toiletries in my hotel because I knew that the ladies who sorted my room while I was out sightseeing, would replenish them all again for me! I bet they were very impressed by my level of hygiene.
I bought my booty back with me, shampoo, shower gel, soap, shower bonnet which has proved most fortuitous because now I have a ample provisions for my Pirate Weekend toilet bag.

There is a competition for the best Pirate Chalet while we are away, and this is what I have made to decorate the bathroom.

I wonder if I should get a pirate ringtone for my phone?

Athletes Foot

I am worried that I have Athletes Foot, I have been looking it up in the medical book.
Picture 195
I am worried it will hinder me on my “Pirate Weekend”, especially as we will be going swimming. So I have got some special powder and hope I can nip things in the bud.
 Picture 202 Picture 204
Mum has checked my feet
Picture 205 Picture 206
And put some powder on, so hopefully all will be well ………
Picture 207
And I will be able to “Enjoy the Pleasures of Neptune” as we pirates like to say.

Tonight's X Factor …. My Verdict

Tonight, I had 5 votes and a tub of Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream (this was a HUGE Saturday night treat for me , but they are on BOGOF at Morrison's this week, how could I resist).

This is what I thought and where my votes went:
Olly was excellent – 3 votes
The blonde one – he will be in the sing off tomorrow – Nil Point
Stacey – beautiful dress, but it looked like Dannii’s hairdresser had been at her – 1 vote – not her best performance
The Twins – spookily compulsive – Nil Point
Danyl – hasn’t he got a huge mouth and tongue?  This puts me off him big time, but no fillings I notice – definitely Nil Point
Joe – very endearing - 2 votes.
Rachel – could be in the sing off again or Miss Frank
Afro - as Louis said not Big Band at all, he needs to be humbled a bit.
Lucie, I HATE the song she sang, never, ever liked it, a dirge of all dirges, so that blurred my opinion of her performance.

Saturday Night Can Only Mean ….

x-factor
All I can do on a Saturday is think about X Factor, what will Cheryl be wearing,  what will Dannii have done to her hair, last week she looked like a demented guinea pig ……
125666
It was a fashion faux pas and goodness knows what her fashion stylist thought they were doing.  But there again, she was a foolish girl for letting them give her such a ridiculous style!
I like to gather my little snacks together (including cheesy popcorn) and make sure I have enough credit on my phone to vote for ………
staceysolomonAP_450x310
Stacey, I love her! When she came out on stage for her first audition I have to admit I shed a little monkey tear, who would have believed she had a voice like that?!! I have a secret Monkey crush on her.
I like Joe too, he seems like a nice and unpretentious boy, some of the other boys are a bit too up themselves for my liking.

I sometimes dream that I am playing the piano for the Master class, me…. Robbie …… Whitney …….

And finally, on another X Factor note, thank goodness Simon keeps his trusted advisor Sinitta well out of shot after her last performance, tisk, tisk. I really can’t abide her!

Friday, Fab Food Day!

Monkey with cafe tray
You may have noticed that I like my food!
On a Friday I like to treat myself and have lunch out.  I go to a nice little self service place where there is a good selection of my favourite things and the prices are very reasonable.  The staff are helpful and help me with my laden tray.
 Picture Monkey with Juice
They let me have a mix of the two fruitie drinks like a cocktail!
  Monkey chosing soup
Now the weather is getting colder, I am starting to have the soup.  Today it was green pea, not my favourite, but it was warming. I know it is common, but I do like to dip my bread, but if my Gran knew I did it she would kill me!
Monkey choosing cake
I like their pink cake very much, but it would be even better with custard, but custard is not on the menu.  There is a suggestion box, so I have suggested that “A cake with custard option would be appreciated” and said “please”.
Monkey By pizza
As well choosing a slice of pizza, I can also top up my tan as the light is so bright.
Monkey with popecorn
I like to take a bag of popcorn home with me  to eat while I am watching The X Factor on Saturday night. They do a surprisingly good cheese flavoured one.I think I might send Simon Cowell some to try.

My Lucky Number's 8

I love a game of billiards. It's a game for gentlemen. I love the characteristic clicking sound as the balls hit against each other. I don't have a proper cue at the moment but find that a leg off our old coffee table makes do!

Swinging from Chandeliers

People often snigger when they hear the phrase “swinging from the chandelier”, but it's something I just cannot resist whenever I see one.
I much admire a well cut glass chandelier - however this one was spoilt a tadge by the protruding eco-friendly bulbs.
But I felt it took my weight well, swinging very smoothly and evenly, the glass droplets making a very pleasing tinkle as I swayed rhythmically to and fro.
A very satisfying experience I cannot recommend highly enough (see below)
If I was on the Strictly Come Swinging Panel I would mark it 9, 9,10, 9.
WARNING - I do not endorse that others should try swinging from any chandelier in any public place (hotels, shops, pubs, Civic Centres etc.).  I am extremely light in weight and an experienced swinger!

Julie Andrews and Other Nuns.

Picture 084
I love the Sound of Music, all that Doh a Deering and Edelweissing and nuns! Brilliant!
If I’d been born a woman, I would have been Julie Andrews.  She can only be described as truly genteel. You can see why Christopher Plummer and all those children fell in love with her…… and she so suited a shorter hairstyle, even though it was unfashionable at the time.

Tinkering on My Organ

 Monkey with headphones
I love music and I play quite a few instruments, but I am afraid it’s a bit like the old saying “Jack of all trades, master of none!”
Monkey with organ
My little stumpy hands are a bit of a hindrance, as I tend to plonk on the keys rather than tinkering on them gently.
Monkey Backview
However, these earphones are brilliant, because I can play for hours and as loud as I like without disturbing the neighbours!
At the moment I am trying to learn to play Robbie Williams Rock DJ.

Not The Cadbury Gorilla!

No,  it’s not the Cadbury Gorilla,  it’s me!
Monkey Playing Drums
I just love that advert. I also love Cadbury’s chocolate …….

Once a year I go to Cadbury World on a school trip I help out on.
I have to admit I spend more time in the shop than looking at the exhibits!  I love the big bags of misshapes they have for £2.99, yum, yum, yum!
mishapes cadbury world stash
I usually take my rucksack with me, as it has a lot of pockets!
